The Web App is a lightweight and easy-to-use application that can be accessed through any browser and device, and can also be installed on iPhones, Android devices, and computers.
In this way, it becomes an excellent tool for broadcasting web radio and creating a loyal audience base.
Here’s how to publish your radio’s web app and how to install it on different devices, including iPhones.
How to publish the Radio Web App
The publishing process is extremely simple and the launch happens instantly. There is no need to wait for any evaluation period.
To create the Web App, access your BRLOGIC Account, click on “Manage my online radio” and then access the “Web App IOS, Android & PC” option in the “Apps” menu.
On this screen, you will be guided through 6 easy steps. The last step will provide the link to your fully functioning Web App.
Steps to create the web app
Step 1: Enter the name of the application.
We recommend that you enter the name of your web radio. This will be the name that will appear on your listeners’ devices.
Step 2: Choose the modules you want to use, among Programming Guide, Chat, Messages, and Musical Requests.
Step 3: Choose Web App Colors.
If you already use the Manageable Website and/or Android App, we recommend using similar colors!
Anyway, you can choose the colors you want and update them whenever you want.
Step 4: Choose the Web App Icon.
This is the image that will appear on the desktop of your listeners’ device.
Therefore, avoid using images that are too small. It is important that your user can recognize your App even through a small icon.
Step 5: Choose the cover image of the Web App.
This image will be used as a background, with a slight blur effect. Therefore, the texts will be unreadable.
We recommend simple images that serve as a complement to the appearance of your Web App.
Step 6: Done! Now just review your web app and click “Publish App”.
A shortcut will be displayed for the user to access the Web App in the top player and the “Apps” module of the managed website.
Fast Web App update
The Web App can be updated free of charge, at any time.
Simply access the radio’s admin panel, make your changes, and click Save.
The update will be applied in approximately 1 minute.
How to use the Web App on iPhone, Android and computer
The web app can be installed on virtually any device and takes up virtually no storage space.
See how to install and use the web app on each device:
Installing and using the Web App on Android
To install the Web App on Android devices, access the website of your radio through the Chrome browser and click on the button available in the upper player or the “Apps” module.
After installation, the Web App access icon will be saved on the user’s device.
Simply touch the icon to open the Web App and start listening to the radio.
Note: The Web App works in any browser available for Android, however, the installation must be done through the Chrome browser.
Installing and using the Web App on iPhone
To use the Web App on iPhone, access your radio’s website through the Safari browser and click on the button available in the upper player or the “Apps” module.
You can also access the web app directly from the URL, which is your website’s domain followed by /app. Example: yourwebsite.com/aap
Instructions to install the app on the iPhone will appear shortly.
Click the “Share” button and select the “Add to Home Screen” option.
Note: The Web App is officially supported with all its features in iOS devices from OS version 15.5 onwards. The Web App works in most versions prior to 15.5 but with limited functionalities supported by the respective operating system version.
Installing and using the Web App on Computer
Using the Web App on your computer is simple.
Simply access your radio’s website via the Chrome browser and click on the web app shortcut.
The action is similar to what happens on iPhones and Android devices.
An installation message is displayed and the user can access the Web App at any time through the shortcut on the desktop or the Start menu.
Note: As for Android, the Web App can be accessed through any browser. However, installation requires support for the “WPA (Web Progressive Apps)” feature. The 2 most popular browsers for Windows, Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge support this feature.
Clever! Now, the Web App is already published and ready to receive your audience.
This is a way to bring the listener closer to your web radio. Instead of typing in the full address to access the site, the web app is just a tap away!
